The new national flag carrier of the Bahamas began operations this week - almost two weeks ahead of schedule.

The announcement that the airline had begun flying both domestic and Bahamas - Florida routes was made in London by Dann H. Lewis, chairman of Bahamas Air Carrier Holdings.
